Listing of Events

1. Faith Sharing Challenge. Push yourself out of your comfort zone by trying to share your faith in some way each day, Sunday 4/24 to Saturday 4/30. Keep a log of your encounters and/or post your experiences on our blog at: OreCreekConnections.Wordpress.com. Meditate on Psalm 145 this entire week.

2. Prayer Challenge. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and join us in praying for our community at least one Sunday during the EACH movement from 9-9:45am.

3. Share a Meal Challenge. Push yourself out of your comfort zone by inviting a non-believing friend, neighbor, coworker, etc into your home or out for a meal.

4. Softball. Monday nights through July from 6pm to dusk. Invite neighbors and friends to play. Sign up at the Connections table. Contact is Bill Kilbane (810-632-9678).

5. Men’s Retreat. April 29 to May 1 at Bair Lake Camp. Sign up at the information table.

6. 30 Hour Famine. A Youth gathering to fast, pray and learn about hunger in the world. Sponsored by World Vision. Contact is Aaron Young (810-444-2720).

7. God’s Kitchen. Six volunteers needed to set up and serve a hot meal to families in need at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Howell. Sign up at the Connections table. Contact is Dawn Maier (810-444-4202).

8. National Day of Prayer. May 5. A nationwide event lifting up government leaders.

9. Soccer Concession. Sign up at the Connections table to work at the Soccer concession stand at Farms Intermediate School on Saturday, May 7. Open to middle school and up. Contact is Bill Kilbane (810-632-9678).

10. Forgotten Harvest. Assist in a Mobile Feeding Unit which distributes 10,000 meals a day to those in need in the city of Detroit. Join us in packaging and delivering meals and sharing the love of Christ in tangible ways to the neediest people in our region. Sign up at the Connections Table. 11. Games @ the Village Manor. A good event for High School and up. Play card games and board games with residents at Village Manor Retirement Home located at 9501 E. Highland Rd, Hartland, 810-632-6200. Play begins at 7pm. Contact is Dawn Cox (517-552-2923).

12. Family Fun in the Park. A family event on May 14th sponsored by our own Children’s Ministry. Details to come. Contact is Erin McCallion (810-333-1307).

13. Homeplate Detroit. An outreach event at Comerica Park. Begins at 12:30pm and ends with a 4:05pm Tiger game vs. the Kansas City Royals. Visit www.HomeplateDetroit.org for details.

14. Book Club. Invite coworkers, family and friends to join in a discussion of the book, Adam by Ted Dekker. This will be a relaxed entry level event. We’ll meet at Biggby Coffee in Hartland at 7pm on Saturday May 14th.Contact is Chris Diehl (248-310-9375).

15. Comedy for a Cause. Invite friends to a night of nationally renowned clean comedians at Woodside Bible Church in Troy, Friday May 20th at 7pm. Admission is free but an offering will be taken to support Promise Village for Children. See www.PromiseVillage.com for details.

16. Relay for Life. Support American Cancer Society research by walking a leg of the 24 hour event going from 9am, May 21 to 9am, May 22. Sign up at the Connections table. Contact is Elaine Bell (810-599-5574).

17. Handyman Ministries. Use your handyman, barbecuing or witnessing skills to minister to needy families in the metro Detroit region. A one day mission trip right here in our own back yard. Sign up at the Connections table. Contact is Mike Diehl (248-496-5009).

18. Soccer Game. Invite friends, neighbors and coworkers to a friendly game of soccer right out in front of Ore Creek Middle School at 2pm on Sunday, May 22. Middle School and up are welcome. Contact is Bill Kilbane (810-632-9678).

19. Wildwood Clean-Up. Our annual service project to the inner city ministries of Wildwood Ranch. Come and paint, clean, rake, etc. Sign up at the Connections table.

20. Hartland Memorial Day Parade Outreach. Help out after the parade with special activities to love and minister to families and their children. Contact is Dawn Cox (517-552-2923).
